アメリカ合衆国で記載された。日本では沖縄本島と石垣島のインゲンやキクの葉から記録されている。海外ではアルゼンチンからも記録されている。L. furcatusに似るが、本種では触角第3節、第4節の感覚錐がオスメス共に棒状であり、L. furcatusではオスは棒状であるが、メスは叉状になることで識別される。

This species was described from the United States and is also recorded from Argentina. In Japan, it has been collected from the leaves of Phaseolus vulgaris [Fabaceae] and Chrysanthemum morifolium [Asteraceae] on Okinawa Is. and Ishigaki Is. This species is very similar to L. furcatus, but it can be distinguished from the latter by having a simple sense cone on antennal segments III and IV in both sexes, whereas in the latter species these segments each have a forked sense cone in the female (simple sense cone in the male).
